STEAM Academy @ Saint Francis University
Saint Francis University is offering STEAM Summer Academies, see attached flyer. The STEAM Summer Academies are one-week, residential, immersive programs for high school students who are currently in grades 10 and 11 (and are at least 15 years old) and are interested in pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, arts, or mathematics.
Summer Health Career Academy
Southwest Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center (AHEC), Inc. is pleased to announce its 19th annual Summer Health Career Academy for interested ninth and tenth grade students from our seven southwestern Pennsylvania counties. Interact with practicing health professionals and learn about health career pathways and opportunities.
Camp Cadet (Westmoreland County)
Sunday July 24-July 29: Pennsylvania State Police, are striving to help our youth develop a better understanding of the criminal justice system and the role of law enforcement professionals. Through the Camp Cadet program, students (ages 12 to 15) from Westmoreland County form a positive relationship with members of the Pennsylvania State Police. During the weeklong camp, emphasis is placed on pride, integrity, respect, self-discipline, self-esteem, responsibility, teamwork and community involvement. Students (“cadets”) arrive on Sunday afternoon and reside with the counselors until their graduation ceremony on Friday evening. Application deadline: May 13, 2022.
Introduction to Athletic Training: An Interactive Workshop for High School Students
Below is a flyer for the UPMC Sports Medicine program, Introduction to Athletic Training: An Interactive Workshop for High School Students. This one-day workshop is being held at Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh and is offered to high school students who are interested in a career in athletic training or who wish to enhance the skills they use daily while working under the direction of a certified athletic trainer at your school. Our program exposes students to key topics through lecture and hands-on practice of techniques and procedures. The workshop is being held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The fee for the program is $40. Registration and payment information is included in the brochure and is due by May 13th.
Air Force Association Cyber Camp
The University of Pittsburgh is being proactive in their education and preparation of young people to fill cyber security roles in the future. They offer various programming for students and are highlighting a camp this summer for high school aged students. The camp will be held July 18-22. Here is the link for more information.
