Eastern Westmoreland Career & Technology Center

 

Eastern Westmoreland CTC is a part-time career and technology center located in Latrobe, PA. EWCTC serves an average of five hundred students from Derry Area, Greater Latrobe, and Ligonier Valley High Schools each year. The school offers fifteen programs in six career pathways: Arts & Communications, Automotive, Construction, Engineering & Manufacturing, Health & Human Services, and Information Technology.

 

Learners who attend EWCTC combine academic theory with practical application to master industry skills. Their focus is to provide a well-rounded education that transfers easily to employment and/or postsecondary education. For those who choose to immediately enter the workforce, their state-of-the-art equipment and a close connection to local businesses give their learners an advantage over other high school students. Learners also earn industry-recognized certifications in each program. For those who choose to further their educations, their learners earn articulated credit that is recognized by multiple postsecondary institutions. That means they are able to skip college classes, which saves both time and money!

 

In addition to receiving quality academics and technical skills training, their curriculum focuses on the “soft skills” necessary for success in life. EWCTC instructors and staff have the unique opportunity to be able to spend three years with their learners. EWCTC pride themselves on encouraging responsibility, work ethic, problem-solving, and community involvement during their formative years. Their learners build professional and personal relationships that last a lifetime and help them become successful employees and business owners in the area.
